Bank Website Redesign
I helped redesign Midwest BankCentre’s website to improve usability and highlight their strong community focus—making the digital experience as friendly and accessible as their in-branch service.
My Role
Midwest BankCentre worked with a branding agency to refresh their brand and create a new homepage. We then designed the rest of the website using these design elements.
Account Tables
To improve clarity and usability, I redesigned the bank’s account type tables. Previously, this information was presented in a traditional, dense chart that felt overwhelming and difficult to scan. My approach separated each account into individual card-style panels, visually spacing out the content while maintaining alignment to facilitate easy side-by-side comparison.
Custom Icon Library
As part of the redesign, I developed a custom icon library to support consistent and accessible visual language across the site. I created a unified set of icons tailored to the bank’s services and brand, ensuring they were visually cohesive and intuitive.
Reflections
This project was a meaningful learning experience that deepened my understanding of designing for clarity, accessibility, and usability within a complex, high-stakes environment. Redesigning the account comparison tables challenged me to think critically about how to structure information in a way that’s easy to scan and compare, while the creation of a custom icon library taught me the value of visual consistency and scalability across a large interface. I also gained experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, balancing user needs with technical constraints.
