O’Fallon Parks and Rec Brochure Design
Since Fall 2023, I’ve been designing seasonal brochures for the O’Fallon, Illinois Parks and Recreation department, helping to share their wide range of community events throughout the year.
My Role
I was responsible for creating each seasonal brochure using the department’s existing branding and layout structure as a foundation. I updated the design with fresh visuals and seasonal touches while keeping everything consistent with their overall look and feel. Because event details and programming often changed during the production process, I collaborated closely with the Parks & Rec team through multiple rounds of feedback to keep everything accurate and up to date.
Organizing the Information
Different types of information needed to be displayed for each event. To make the details easier to digest visually, I thought through the needs of each item in the brochure. Some only needed simple date and time details, and others required more complex configurations like the pool pass information to the right.
Reflections
Working on these brochures was a genuinely enjoyable experience—I loved getting a behind-the-scenes look at all the events, classes, and programs that bring the community together each season. It was rewarding to play a small part in helping residents discover everything their Parks and Recreation department has to offer.
